This is where it all started, the beginning of Trashbags. At the time, we thought (Nik & Diego) this logo would have been suitable for one of the trashiest parties we had set to achieve, we just had no idea it would lead us to where we are now.

6 years later, we stumbled across this logo (above) believe it or not, this took us some time to design, we had no idea how to use photoshop, we just managed to find the Type Font & Cut and paste, for this outcome.

Along the discovery of our path, it was suppose to be just a monthly party, a place we could get fucked up with some great music, and that is the honest truth.

At the time of the powerhouse of Modular, Bang gang, and the bookers, it was hard to book quality acts, either that, or they cost an arm and a leg. – Nik came up with the idea of ‘how about bringing someone over from overseas’ – Diego immediately said, no way, if locals are costing X amount of dollars, internationals would be much more expensive, .. And that was the turning point. Internationals were much cheaper, considerably too, and that’s when we saw ourselves host our first international GUNS’N'BOMBS at plantation (which is now fakeclub) – from there, Bloody Beetroots, Toxic Avengers, D.I.M, etc etc…

One moment we remember quite clearly, at the time we toured The Bloody Beetroots, we were on the verge to touring ‘The Crookers’ also, but we decided not to, in our exact words we said ‘ nah, i don’t think they will work’ so we cancelled, … Look at them now, … boy were we wrong; Lesson learnt.

The journey has been good to us, way we have made some friends, broke some artists into Australia, and toured some artists that have Become artists Festivals are now using.

a small idea has lead us to 6 years of the Trashbags identity, with the spawn of Interstate shows – Touring Company, TUFFEM UP! Records, and our latest project ‘Fake club’.

The New Belgium – RAVEYARDS

The New Belgium, as we have never seen it. – Today we make our decision as the country where some serious talent is growing from. – Belgium – home to Gtronic, The Subs, the Oddword, & Mumbai Science, Today we were inboxed with perhaps the greatest up rising band we have discovered. - Raveyards!

We know very little of these guys, as what we got from them was a simple email saying that they follow our blog and would love to share this song with us.

quoting “I don’t have to spend a lot of words, because there’s nothing more to tell for now. Let the video and music speak for itself.”

We are left in complete frenzy here, as this is some serious production with audio and visual, by far the most impressive video of 2012 we have encountered. It’s visual effects + story line is pin pointed to perfection, no room for errors here, these dudes knew exactly what they wanted to achieve and have done it with swift precision. Word on the street with some inquiries from us is that the Subs member/s are involved in this project, and to no surprise, this is absolute BANG-TASTIC.

Once we hear more of the Band/project we will let you know what else they have in store, for now.. Watch, learn & admire. – RAVEYARD – REMEMBER

Cool new package came in today, with the New Sebastien Tellier reaching our mail, and who could deny this impressive new single by our french friend ‘Sebastien Tellier’ - when we saw him last year at Parklife he did deliver quite an amazing live set and we also got to hear him up close an intimate during rehearsals at Oxford art factory, thanks to PAPA GERBS.

Now we have him with an EP titled Cochon Ville, such a cool disco chilled vibe, Sebastien knows how to create them to pin point perfection – With remixes from Brodinski, Dimitry from Paris, Hey Champ & the magician – this is quite a complete release

Morgan Freeman Narrates over song

You have heard him in movies, it’s that enjoyable voice that captures you when Morgan Freeman starts to talk. Now you can hear him officially feature in a song by B.O.B titled Bombs away, and as strange as it may sound, the whole narrated intro, this is an excellent song, at certain parts sounds a bit like eminem, really great flow.

It’s awesome, Looks like Hip Hop is starting to get better, yes it may scream a tad mainstream, but it’s the cooler side of the mainstream side, – anything but the Bieber , One direction etc. Now that is some real piece of turd music.

The M Machine – THE REVIEW

There has been quite some hype on the current release of ’The M Machine – Metropolis’ . We have heard of the name briefly in 2011, so today we decided to grab this EP for our own self conclusion,- to finally put to rest if hype is well deserved.

We don’t know much about The M Machine, but what we do know is that they reside on Skrillex’s label ‘OWSLA’ , so we are expecting a heavy dose of Bass and more Bass.

As we hit play we stare at the cover art as Immigrant plays along, Cover art is detailed – something we love, the futuristic drawn art; the art does not fit with what we are expecting to hear, that’s for certain, but it doesn’t matter – as Immigrant plays we are blessed with some impressive progressive electro bassline with some solid melody lines, – It’s electro, but electro done with a futuristic touch, evolved electro – and we like it – Immigrant has dynamic, and is definitely much more than just extremely hard electro, on the contrary, it’s melodic, progressive… Just superb.

It gets better, Deep Search is just melodic pleasing to the ear, and us Trashbags love the melodic 80′s synthesizer sound and that’s no secret, - This is done differently though, more ambient melodic lines, very very soothing, - we are now second guessing how this fits on the OWSLA catalogue, as this is not what we were expecting. The Drop of Deep search isn’t hard, but more so impact progressive, such new age electro, and deserves complete credit with what is done here – It’s a musical track, not for everyone – for only music enthusiast that just want to hear something unique and different. Perfect.

Holy shit, A King Alone plays along, now this is the real deal, extremely out there, nothing but perfection created here. it’s Sigur Ros , such soft melodic synths, such a great vibe, it’s feel good music, this cannot be classified as electro, more so ambient dance , absolutely amazing. *repeat*

Faces …… i don’t think we cannot express what we can say about this – ‘Eurphoria‘ – Close your eyes, and hit play.

So this must be it, the Hard track of the EP- ’Black‘ not sure what to think of this one though, after playing the first 4 tracks of Metropolis, Black would be the weakest, this Hard electro tune is mediocre, we understand it needed its hard track, but the level of production of The M Machine we would think they would have dominated the harder edge sound, – Metropolis is such a musical piece, we would have expected a hook into this, something that if played at a club you would remember – it has it’s breakdown, which is good, but the drop is just simple & monotone – It’s Ok, just not great.

And this is how it ends… With ‘A Shadow in the Rose Garden’ – and we are captured once again- no comment is needed other than ‘Absolutely blown away’.

Today we understand a few things about The M Machine, they are something special – ahead of the game, pushing boundaries with their ambient sounds mixed with their progressive sounds, soft chilled vocals which is just Eurphoria – They deserve all the hype and more – They have made us a fan & this Release will sit alongside our most favourite collection of music. What is more impressive in all this, is that Skrillex other than winning Grammy awards, the guy knows music when he hears it. Kudos to the discovery of ’The M Machine’

With an added show 300kms from Melbourne’s heart of city, they fill the tour with a 7 show stop across Australia. Rasmus was kind enough to provide us here an exclusive Mixtape just for their tour, and yes it’s filled with a couple of unreleased material aswell as absolute Bangers, almost a complete mix featuring F.O.O.L in every mix, it’s a great SET.

A new release from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur is here ‘ Tapes & Money’ and it’s amazing. Cool chilled Vocals, with a nice progressive synth feel, - This tune is right on the money, and how can you not love his ever building hat collection, – Definitely getting influenced by Jamiroquai in that aspect and quite possibly small bits on the music side also.

It’s been quite some time since we have featured the russian onslaught label ‘Mako Records’ – but today our friends over at (disclosed blog) linked us to “The W” remix of John Dahlbacks ‘Everywhere’ – and we can say it’s quite spectacular – a cool pop feel about it, and those cool lyrics works a treat, it’s no surprise there that this tune has always been a great tune , the synth, the bassline is excellent.

Such a strong combination, when Swedish Duo take some time to remix an absolute weapon of a song as ‘Iron Man’. This release that came out years ago on Boemklatsch Records is what skyrocket the G-Man into instant fame in the underworld of electro, now titled as Heavy Bass Trash Gregatron aka Gtronic is on the verge on devastating the world with his new concept idea of Sergeant Bass, which is a ‘man who is unfit for duty therefor is injected with some sort of black liquid which turns him into the Covert Ops operation in the bunkers of a military hideout, and all you see is an evil black eyed man’. Not giving away too much this teaser has won so many people over as visually & Audio is fine detailed to perfection.

F.O.O.L are heading our way for their high demanded tour in May 2012, and there is no stopping the pair with releases on TUFFEM UP! records & followed announcement on Dim Mak records .

Although the song getting remix may be old it’s what made us love Gtronic from the very beginning. F.O.O.L do amazing job, and does not miss the mark, this has the toughness wobble of the signiture Gtronic Sound which never should be tampered with, and added are synthesizers that accompany such a great track. What can be better than this, is that it’s free.

LA Riots Lift Off

It’s been awhile since LA Riots had a release under their belt, this release is quite good, well at least Lift off is; it’s your big room electro, almost sounds like an anthem, – It’s fun, it’s Party- it feels like it builds up to another build up and continues to do so throughout the song. Well structured with insane amounts of dynamics running through this track, – this will do very well on dancefloor and sets, Great Track.

We cannot say the same about Nuggets Adventure, more to the point what was LA Riots thinking releasing this as the B-side, it almost seems they would have played the song over to hear what they have created and said ‘sure, lets release it’ – after 2 minutes of this song it gets irritating and annoying … but then continues throughout the whole song, ‘this annoying siren sounding VST’ absolutely devastating to the ears and not in the good way - ‘ the bad way, oh what the fuck is this, it’s fucking annoying – change the song ‘

LA Riots – Nuggets Adventure (160kbs quality only)

Don’t believe us, well just listen to it. – It just doesn’t make sense, one track is Great, where the other is below average.
